DELIVERY OF SUBSTRACTED CONTENT

En 2002, a las 3h de la tarde, encontrè con mi amigo Paco unos buzones de cartas en la entrada de un portal y los llevamos al estudio que entonces compartìamos en Madrid. Màs tarde, nos dimos cuenta que seguìan los nombres de muchos vecinos y todas sus cartas sin abrir, pues no les habìa dado tiempo a trasladar todo el contenido de estos buzones a los nuevos que estaban instalando. Conscientes de que la Sustracciòn de correspondencia escrita es un delito penado con hasta 5 años de prisiòn, decidimos no devolverlos y usarlos en algùn futuro proyecto artìstico.
En Abril de 2004, Paco muriò y los buzones quedaron semiolvidados en mi estudio, con sus cartas sin abrir y publicidad en sus casilleros, igual que el primer dìa.
Ocho años despuès, en septiembre de 2010, a las 4 de la mañana, se devolvieron los buzones de forma clandestina en el mismo portal donde se habìan sustraido, y acto seguido, con rapidez, se abandonò el lugar de los hechos.
In 2002, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, my friend Paco and I found some letter boxes at the entrance of a doorway and we took them to the studio we shared at the time in Madrid. Later, we realised that the names of many neighbours and all their unopened letters were still there, as they had not had time to transfer all the contents of these mailboxes to the new ones they were installing. Aware that the theft of written correspondence is a crime punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment, we decided not to return them and to use them in some future artistic project.
In April 2004, Paco died and the mailboxes were left half-forgotten in my studio, with their unopened letters and advertisements in their pigeonholes, just like the first day.
Eight years later, in September 2010, at 4 o'clock in the morning, the mailboxes were clandestinely returned to the same doorway where they had been stolen, and then quickly left the scene.
